I love it! Sometimes it takes awhile to get going but maybe thats not the app but the network or whatev.

Update: Another downgrade. I am whisked to an unwanted ad more and more. When I try to get back to the radio stream, it is frozen. I have to close out the app and reopen it to resume listening. Update: This is a downgrade from my previous four stars. I echo the frustration of those who have found the app unstable, and I refuse to listen to stations that make me listen to promotional material prior to the radio stream. A new problem that has been particularly irritating is the ad bar at the bottom of the screen. I am very tired of accidentally touching the bar and being taken to an ad for Game of War or other product (many of which seem incongruous for public radio listeners). I have loved having public radio available on my phone, and I downloaded this version because I was interested in the sleep and alarm features. I originally downgraded this app because it seemed less reliable than the previous version, and I had trouble with the new features. I am still not impressed with the alarm, but otherwise I have had a good experience overall. Being able to listen to public radio stations across the country is great.

Its really a shame... such a great app in theory, but it just got stuck in loading mode every time I tried to play a station, or just didnt play.

Whats going on with this app? It used to be good and reliable. But its become really unreliable and the stations have all stopped working. Has it been discontinued or something?

Tried re-installing too. Nice pulsing indicator while not EVER loading —though.

I use this app religiously. It suddenly stopped working. It will not pick up any stations. I have deleted and reloaded it many times. SO ANNOYING! It does not work with the latest IOS.

Great. Easy to use. A wonderful variety of music and stations

After many years using this app with so-so results, it now no longer works on iOS 10. Ive switched to Tunein Radio, and so far its a much better app.

I once used this app every day but it hasnt worked in months now. Every stream just buffers forever. Refreshing, relaunching, restarting device, even deleting the app and reinstalling it doesnt fix this problem. Before this it would just have random days where it didnt work. Now I guess thats every day.

This is the best public radio app. I can listen to whatever station I want, anywhere in the country, wherever I am. Quality is very good, its one of my favorite apps.

I love NPR and I love what this app promises to do. Unfortunately, it stops working frequently EVERY time I use it. This problem is getting worse instead of better. Please, please fix this!! I would happily pay for the app if that is the issue perpetuating this obvious problem.

So glad I have this. There are a few glitches, but overall its great being able to access so many different stations from one app.

Love being able to listen to the "news from lake woebegone"

The app is great in that you can access hundreds of public radio stations, and there is a ton of recorded content. However, if your signal (network or wifi) is even slightly compromised, the app becomes very problematic with both streaming and downloading. If you try to stream recorded content, and it doesnt work, downloading it often does not work either, or the app freezes. This can sometimes be fixed by restarting the app, but is very frustrating when on a road trip or something like that.

Cannot get this app through consistently stream any of several stations that I have tried including ones that will stream with other software. The only one that works is their own remix quasi-station.

This app is a quick and easy way to get your favorite NPR station wherever you are!

Great for listening to NPR

Ive had this app for a couple of years. Ive never had a completely successful experience listening to NPR with this app. It always screws up: drops out for a couple of seconds of a story, and, always, eventually stops completely.

Its great to be able to hear the familiar voices from home while traveling and also access the amazing network of programs from distant cities while at home.
